When I heard a few months ago that YouTuber and beauty blogger extraordinaire Tanya Burr was bringing out her own range of lip glosses and nail polishes, I was excited.
Since I began following her YouTube channel and blog back in 2012, Tanya has gone on to securing almost 2 million subscribers, is invited to countless movie premieres and holds a seat next to London Fashion Week’s ‘Frow’ crowd – not bad for a 23 year old girl making beauty and fashion videos from her bedroom, huh?
Tanya Burr Lips & Nails launched back in January this year and boasts 10 nail shades (ranging between dark, bright and pastels) and 12 pretty cream and shimmer lip colours. She simply calls it the ‘classic me collection’, which explains her heavy involvement in the process of building the affordable collection.
The two nail shades that first caught my eye were Little Duck (a pretty mint blue) and Be Bright, Be Happy, Be You (a bright pink). The latter in particular caught my attention, reminding me of a positive message Tanya mentioned in a blog post a few months ago. Both polishes are easy to apply, dry pretty quick and leave a glossy finish, and for £5.99, a real bargain if you ask me.
My favourite glosses so far are Vampire Kiss (a gorgeous deep blood red colour) and Picnic in the Park ( a pretty pink), but with 10 other shades to choose from and for only £6.99, I might have to pick up a few more to try, of course…
Both of the shades above are wearable for any skin colour and are extremely build-able – apply once for a sheer finish, or apply twice (or three times, even four if you wish…) for a rich, colourful lip. They don’t leave a sticky residue like many glosses I’ve tried, and are easy to apply to the lip neatly.
Have you tried any of Tanya’s products? I’d be interested to hear your reviews 🙂
