Bourjois Velvet Rouge | The Review

I haven’t been wooed by a lipstick for a while, but Bourjois have come out with something a little bit special…

Enter, Bourjois’ newest lip sensation – Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks!

With eight shades to choose from, the line up is strong and whether you’re a red lip lover or a pink pouter you’ll be amazed with the bold matte finish it gives. The application goes on like a dream, leaving no mess and leaves your lips feeling smooth soft like velvet – not to mention it leaves you with a pretty perfect pout!

As I lingered around the Bourjois counter for a good few minutes trying to decide which colour to choose, these two shades above float my boat the most. Pink Pong is a glamourous hot pink that leaves a big impression, so I tend to play down the eye make-up when wearing this colour. I’ve been wearing this shade day and night recently, and with compliments galore I think it will be a firm favourite for Summertime.ย Frambourjoise is a pretty raspberry red, not too bright but still makes a statement. For those with pale skin like me, this shade is a perfect alternative for a flattering bold red lip that can be worn whatever time of day, and will wow whatever the occasion.

The colour intensity and staying power is insane, lasting several hours without needing to apply additional coats, but be aware that removing the stained pout takes a couple of make-up remover soaked cotton pads…

Now all I need is the other 6 shades – who’s with me?
