Jamie’s Italian Super Lunch Menu Review

When it comes to food, Italian is my number one.

So you can imagine my excitement when I heard that one of my favourite restaurants had launched a new lunch menu – and it wasn’t just the food that stood out…

I’d practically picked out what I was going to order before we even entered the restaurant.

After being greeted by our friendly waiter, we settled down at our table in a cosy corner of the room and perused the wine list. It was a school night so thought a carafe of Merlot would suffice, and it turned out that we were far too busy chatting to drink much anyway!

Between 12 and 6pm on weekdays, Jamie’s Super Lunch Menu lets you choose between two courses for £10.95, or three for £12.95. But if that’s not enough to tempt you, then I suppose I’ll let the food do the talking…

Porcini Arancini – Fried balls of mushroom risotto with mozzarella & Italian cheese fondue, YUM!
Truffle Tagliatelle
Pâté Pancetta

Despite it being a ‘lunch’ menu, we managed to squeeze in just before 6 and the staff were very obliging to let us have the offer. A top quality cheap and cheerful early evening meal, perfect for dates and long overdue catch ups with friends.

Okay, so let’s talk main course.

H opted for the chicken burger whilst I went for steak, both of us clearly feeling the meaty vibes!

My portion of fries was large enough to share too, although I’d totally get it if you didn’t want to though… no judgement! 😉

Gennaro's Chicken Club - Brioche stuffed with chargrilled, marinated free-range chicken, crispy pancetta, spicy ‘nduja mayo, fontal cheese, tomato & rocket
Gennaro’s Chicken Club – with crispy pancetta, spicy ‘nduja mayo and fontal cheese
Classic Italian Steak & Fries – with herby garlic butter

The steak was cooked perfect for my liking, but next time I’m definitely going to try the chicken burger – my mouth is watering just looking at this!

After demolishing our first two courses you would think our poor stomachs couldn’t take much more, but we couldn’t pass up the chance of dessert. That would be rude, no?

Sharing is caring, after all, so we went half’s on the chocolate brownie and sipped on coffee to end a lovely evening.

They don’t call it ‘Epic’ for nothing… Warm fudgy brownie with vanilla ice cream & caramelised popcorn. Delicious!

You can visit the website for details on where your nearest restaurant is and view the entire Super Lunch Menu here.

Big thank you to Jamie’s Italian for a wonderful evening, I’m sure I’ll be back again soon to try out the rest of the new menu – for review purposes, of course! *Ahem*….

  1. That is SUCH a good value meal! I haven’t been to Jamie’s for ages but always used to go to the one in Gunwharf which was lush and want to visit the one in Brighton. I will definitely have to plan a visit now xxx
