Ex-reality TV star. Author. Fashion designer. Business woman. Wife. Influencer. Party planner.
However you see her, Lauren Conrad is pretty fabulous.
It’s probably no surprise to many of you that I’m a huge fan of LC (read my makeup inspired post here). Lauren inspires me in many ways – her creativity, her style, her work ethic – there doesn’t seem to be anything that this woman can’t do. Her Beauty and Style books are a go-to on my book shelf, with her step-by-step guides making it super easy to replicate her famous winged liner and laid-back Californian style, I knew her new book ‘Celebrate‘ was going to be just as special.
With everything from party prep, decor and recipes, it’s clear to me that Lauren has been very hands on in the process of creating this how-to guide. It’s almost an extension of what you read on her website LaurenConrad.com, visually appealing and inspiring – not to mention, the pictures are stunning!!
One of my favourite chapters is The Menu, where Lauren explains the seasonality of food (kiwi in Winter, watermelon in Summer, rhubarb in Spring and apple in Autumn) and even shares some of her favourite recipes to serve to party guests. She goes on to select certain outfits for different events – dinner parties, engagements, birthdays… this is more than just a book on throwing parties, it’s a lesson in event etiquette.
You also get to see a special snippet of her life, wedding photos and personal memories with friends and family, a sweet touch that is sure to entice a few of her fans from The Hills days to pick up this book. This brings me to the Wedding chapter – perfect for those getting engaged and needing help with planning the big day. Lauren spills the beans on the build up to marrying hubby William Tell, details that makes the book different to other similar publications I’ve read.
You haven’t got to be an LC fan to enjoy this book, but I can’t promise it won’t turn you into one…
You can order ‘Celebrate’ on Amazon, let me know if you buy it!
