Bristol Fashion Week SS16

As soon as any hint of sunshine comes out, my mood instantly brightens – and the same can be said about spring/summer fashion.

Swapping the thick knits for lighter layers as we crossover to slightly better weather (it’s still England after all), there’s one event that gets me excited for the coming months…

What I Wore: Girls Night Out

Happy Hump Day!

Today I’m throwing it back to an outfit I wore just before Christmas. It was all going on over the festive period so it completely slipped my mind to write up the posts to go along with the photographs that were taken. Not wanting to discard them into the ‘unused’ folder, I thought you might find some style inspo with this outfit choice.

Get Ready With Me: Autumn Edition

When it comes to seasons, I’m quite fickle. I love summer time for the sunshine, warm breezes, light evenings, road trips to the beach with friends, alfresco dining…the list could go on! However, come October and I’m ready for the cosy nights in, Halloween, berry hues, layers, seasonal hot drinks etc – Autumn, I’m ready for you!

Get The Look For Less | With Travelex

As a blogger I find it really difficult to stop splashing the cash. Reasoning each purchase with “but I can review this for the blog” is definitely not healthy for my bank balance, so when Travelex teamed up with Reem from Five Five Fabulous and set other bloggers the challenge to create their own #GetTheLook based on one of the five key fashion trends for less than ÂŁ100 I happily accepted.

Summer Blues

festival-blues-1

The weather doesn’t seem to know what it’s doing right now. One minute the sun is flaunting it’s rays and the next a rain cloud has appeared out of nowhere!

Recently I picked up some new summer essentials and managed to catch a ‘good day’ to take a few photos. I know, it’s not summer quite yet but right now is the best time to head to the shops and get your wardrobe together. After all, you know how these designers like to get ahead of the seasons and roll out Autumn-wear before Summer can even say ‘Hey! I’ve arrived!’ (especially in the UK!)

I suppose the spotlight goes to H&M in this post, they always manage to stock some of the best clothing and accessories on the high street for a fraction of the cost you would pay elsewhere.

When I saw this kute kimono I knew I had to have it, paired with a cropped white tee and a pair of black jeans (or shorts if you’re feeling a bit more adventurous), it’s a great day-to-night outfit to quickly throw together! Change up a pair of sandals for some heels to make it more glam – and a statement necklace doesn’t go a miss either – effortlessly cool!

A Fondness of Florals

zara-summer-dress-1

Whether it’s winter, summer or in between, I’m a fan of the floral print.

As I perused the rails of Zara in Bristol last week I spotted this pretty little number, a perfect staple for sunny weather. I’m off on my summer hols with friends in a few weeks and this will be perfect *insert heart-eyed emoji* – and I had to share this beautiful bargain with you lovely lot!

Well I say a bargain, it is still ÂŁ40 but for the quality and number of places you can wear this midi dress it is worthy of it’s price tag. Slimming but fitted at the waist, loose but in a floaty señorita way and thin straps that won’t get in the way of tan time.

Going to a wedding? This dress has you covered.

A picnic in the park with friends? This dress has you covered.

A stroll along the beach? This dress has you covered.

You can accessorize it to what fits your mood, but I really like the idea of pairing it with this fringed leather bag from Zara:

#BristolFashionWeek SS15

BFW-1

Bristol Fashion Week has just landed, and Spring/Summer 2015 has never looked so good.

Taking place at the Mall at Cribbs Causeway, bloggers and fashionista’s from all over flew in to enjoy a few days of fashion last week in Bristol. With 17 catwalk shows and a travel theme through out the 5 days, I was extremely excited about my first fashion event.

Fashion from high street retailers including Marks and Spencer, Oasis, Jack Wills and Topshop came together and showed us what we can look forward to over the next couple of seasons – affordable fashion at it’s very best!

We sat down in our seats and reviewed the style scenes that were about to depart from the catwalk, as we sipped on a non-alcoholic Mojito and Carrot and Orange juice, courtesy of Marks and Spencer. There was a real buzz in the room and we were looking forward to the journey to begin…

The fashion shows were hosted by TV stylist Mark Heyes and Made in Chelsea’s Lucy Watson, a pairing that worked well and conversation flowed with no awkwardness. I loved Lucy’s fringe bodycon dress from Topshop, a trend most designers are embracing at the moment. From double denim to monochrome, florals and pastels through to seventies boho chic and bold colours – this year is filled with so many fun and wearable trends that you can adapt to your own personal taste. I particularly loved the denim, 70s and floral looks, feeling inspired to try something out of my comfort zone this summer!

Goody bags in hand, myself and Sophie found ourselves in John Lewis sipping on champagne as we did a little bit of shopping in store. I fell in love with this flirty floral number, a perfect dress for weddings and summer garden gatherings!

Buckley London Jewellery

Buckley-London

For a few months now I’ve been trying the ‘less is more’ approach to my wardrobe. Whilst my lipstick collection is far from minimal, I find that a good accessory can change up an outfit in an instant.

When I heard about the beautiful Costume Jewellery brand Buckley London, I had to get my hands on a few pieces! They kindly sent me 3 of their most popular pieces to try a couple of weeks ago and I’ve been obsessed with them ever since.

I love a bit of sparkle on my earrings, and these gorgeous Cubic Zirconia studs are perfection. At an affordable cost of ÂŁ25, they really stand out even if you have long hair like myself (excuse the ear photo, but you can see the size of them in comparison to my other studs). I had been looking for a new pair of studs to glam up my outfits for a while so I’m thrilled I’ve finally found a pair that are comfortable to wear, and I’ve worn them pretty much every day since! You can buy yours here if you’re interested or want more information.

The pieces that caught my eye the most were this range of metal mesh bracelets. Available in four tones, I received the black rhodium, rhodium and rose gold with hand-set crystals (the rose gold is definitely my favourite). I love stacking up bracelets and already own a variety of different styles, but these sparkle mesh pieces are a new favourite and will definitely be a staple for spring/summer.  They stretch over your wrist comfortably and you can wear just the one or stack them to suit whatever occasion you’re dressing up (or down) for. For a set of 3 (which come in random assortments) it will set you back ÂŁ24.99, see here for more information.

As the designers of the Royal British Legion’s Poppy brooch (even the Royal Family have donned them on appearances), I was excited to receive their stunning crystal poppy brooch as I’ve wanted one for so long. You can wear this Jewelled Poppy with pride supporting this brilliant cause, whilst adding a touch of sparkle at the same time. Please see their collection of remembrance poppy brooches here.

(Profits of every poppy sold is also paid to Royal British Legion Trading Limited.)

You can see how I wear these pieces in my latest Spring OOTD post here. Their affordable pieces make the perfect gifts for friends and family!

Don’t forget to check out the rest of Buckley London’s collection here and @BuckleyJeweller on Twitter.
